Charles by Idess

This was a project in my art class. We were supposed to take a funny photo and draw it. The 'rule', though, was to put a colored box somewhere in the picture to give the sense that the picture is indeed flat, and not three-dimensional (idunno, ask my teacher :| )
I took this of my pug dog, Charles, outside my house.

Joker by MommySpike

This summer, I get to teach an art merit badge for my sons' Boy Scouts troop. To this end, I'm doing a few 'normal' pictures to show what realistic art is like. (And to placate the adults that might be a little unnerved by my regular art.)

Medium: Cretacolor Aquamonolith pencils
Tags: dog badge bull art boy terrier scouts merit
Winter's Daughter by Wolf Nymph

For my life painting class, we were required to make a few self portraits as out of class assignments. The first one was black and white, and was supposed to be "Artiste Extraordinaire" themed, and this one was full color with us in some kind of costume. My costume was just a big scrap of fox fur I salvaged from an old thrift store coat, which I wrapped around my head to look like a fur lined hood. It was nearing the end of the semester, so I had to do this one sort of fast, but it turned out to be one of my best life paintings!

Done in Acrylics on 10" X 13" Coldpress Illustration board
