Oh mah gosh I just loved his pudgy, snuggly form and that cute bear face and those adorable horns and floppy ears and fluffy tail! just awesomely adorable. I loved drawing him! One, down 4 to go!

Wolves of Smoke and Ink Sketch by Tigress

I was chatting with Mulefoot on FA one day and he spoke about how he was going to paint a coyote of ink and shadows. I absolutely loved the idea because it was one I'd had many times before myself and I am in love with the wispy, ethereal and powerful image of a wall of smoke or a haze of mist swirling and reaching, transforming into the powerful, lurking forms of some being(s). That was exactly the image I got after listening to Muley's idea. This is resulting sketch for my idea. These three guys turned out kinda cool, but way too cute and with way too many details, so I changed them through the course of the painting. I swear unless you saw this sketch, you'd have no clue the final painting started here. You should all visit mulefoot to check out his, it turned out very nice and it's extremely cool to see the differences in interpretation and expression of a similar idea.

So I'm going to start a series of paintings that I will dub the "Once Upon a Time" series. These will be a series of undetermined number of paintings, kinda like cute illustrations, the sort you'd see in an old time childrens' book. Each painting will introduce a new character. I'm going to come up with cute little stories for each character. I have no idea how many I will make. I'll make them until I get tired of making them I guess. Anyways, here's a sketch of the first character, Fredrik Field Mouse. Isn't he cute? Yes, that is cardboard. I like the old, kinda worn hardcover book look it gives it.

Quick and dirty. I tried to define as little as possible with actual line, wanting rather to define the form more with the value later. I feel I could have eliminated even more line. It's certainly a safety net for me to define parts of the figure and lay down a "map" so that I have a safe guideline to follow as I continue. God forbid I make a mistake and have to figure out how to fix it while coloring! (that's sarcasm in case you were wondering)

Crap. That's how this made me feel. Frustration! I feel it has potential, but I'm stuck. Everything I did to that curtain made me angry. XD So I'll upload this because I don't think I'll ever touch this picture again. We'll see. This was based off a very awesome chance picture of my dog in our darkened living room. His eye were glowing and he looked like a devil dog!

New and Improved for 07! Took the old drawing done in high school c. 1999 and revamped it. I'm happy to see I've improved, but it's the coloring that'll really show it. Keep a watch out for the update!

I got Mx Studio! Now I has Flash! *happyhappyhappy* Anyway, I'm gunna make some animations. I've got a concept here. Not sure when I'll gan the skills with Flash to be able to pull this off, but when I do, I'll be making an animation to go along with the Nickle Creek song "The Fox". This is a scene from one of my favorite parts of the song: "He grabbed the great goose by the neck He threw a duck across his back And he didn't mind the quack, quack And the legs all danglin' down-o, down-o, down-o He didn't mind the quack, quack And the legs all danglin' down-o"
